Data Point One points us back to the truth of Jesus, in that He is the Son of God as the Bible says He is. In the Hebrew language of Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.”, the word for God is plural. So in the Trinitarian theology, what the fathers of the Church have established through scripture and reasoning is that the three persons of God, three in one, always existed and were present at the act of Creation of the known universe: God the Father, Jesus the only Son of God, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is prophesied through numerous scriptures of the Old Testament, although some people are blind to proof.
As previously stated, evil tries to introduce error and lead people astray. After the establishment of the Christian Church (lumping all together for now) and after the books of the Bible were carefully compiled into one book, various false churches appeared. In competing with God, principle tactics employed by evil are deception, and denial of the divinity of Jesus Christ, who was (is really) both fully God and fully man.
In the 7th century Islam appeared. Muhammad decided that the Jews and Christians were basically evil, and refuted that Jesus was the actual Son of God. In the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, built right on top of the ruins of the Israelites’ Temple of God, it is said that the verses of the Qu’ran that deny the divinity of Jesus Christ are inscribed inside the dome. Muhammad supposedly got some of his revelations from an angel, while other determinations were from hurt feelings.
In the early 19th century Mormonism appeared, founded by a self-proclaimed prophet named Joseph Smith who also supposedly got some of his revelations from an angel. The allegations go against conclusions made by the Bible and the fathers of the Christian Church in numerous ways. They also dispute the divinity of Jesus and dishonor God with mythological assertions, and the Book of Mormon contradicts the Bible in various places as well.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses church was founded in the latter 19th century, and likewise it also doubts the divinity of Jesus Christ, relating Him merely to the level of the angel Michael instead of the Son of God.
The Bible forewarns the introductions of error with these passages of scripture written by Saint Paul:
Galatians 1:8 ‘But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!’
2nd Corinthians 11:14 ‘Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.’
Idolatry predates Moses so we know error has been spread by fallen angels, both before the days when Jesus was on the Earth, and afterwards.
What we are then to conclude, is that a religion or a variation (or a denomination) that denies the divinity of Jesus Christ has critical error in it, and it may be gravely fraudulent.
If you are a doubter, you can pray, “Jesus, please reveal to me the truth of Your divinity. Amen.”
